This is one of my favorite photoshoots I’ve ever done, because the models are my two youngest sisters, and because my entire family woke up at 4am together so we could walk behind our house and they could be a part of the fun. I felt successful as a photographer when my parents stood behind me as my sisters ran around in masks and blankets and didn’t think I was crazy, instead understood and were proud.
I love the beauty of being young, when our creativity is not stifled by the mass of what’s already been done, when we think the world is a little more magical than it really is. This is an exploration of dreaming half awake, what childhood should be like.
