BEST OF 2019 – Rae Marshall Photography
This is my FAVORITE blog post of the year, when I get to accumulate all of the work done this year and see it together. These moments tell so many stories of those who are in them, but they also tell my story. What I saw, what I got to be a part of. Where I was. How it felt to be there.
Does time seem to move slow in the moment for you, but then looking back it seems like it flew by? That’s how it felt for me with a lot of new events that changed everything.
This year was definitely a new world for me. It’s the first time I took on the role of mother for my baby boy, born at the tail end of last year in December 2018. And truthfully I was really worried. I was worried about how this new responsibility would affect my career which I’ve built and worked on for the past 15 years (half of my life).
But this blog post shows to me visually that I have been able to do both, and that we women don’t have to choose between being a mother and still doing what we love to do.
I will be sharing a separate post at the end of the week more about my thoughts as a mother and a look back at our personal moments in 2019, so stay tuned for anyone who’d like to hear more about my professional and personal blending as a new mom!

I had many favorite photos and moments from 2019 and thousands to go through, so I grabbed images the best I could for this feature but I had a few favorites from every session I did this year. I am so grateful for everyone I get to meet, every first look, every tear captured, every child’s smile and everything I get to experience in this job.
