My Year Looking Back –
Wow. I can’t believe everything that’s happened this year, and I definitely don’t feel like it’s coming to an end already. The lack of seasons in Hawaii is really strange and I feel disoriented when I walk into stores with shorts on and Christmas music is playing. This is my favorite blog post to do every year, because not only do I get to look back on the many images I created, I realize how much happened in that time period
2016 to 2017
I said last year in my 2016 blog post that I was having a “transition” year.
We did two quick moves while my husband finished military training and I was stuck in two different cities that I knew I would not be settling into. It was a very difficult 2 years for me. We found out we were moving to Hawaii last November, and I was pretty shocked at first. We had thought for sure we were getting California and I had been mentally prepared to move there for months. But that’s how it is, and it’s been a wild ride.
Life in Hawaii
Hawaii has been a joy to experience, live and learn about. There is a totally different culture here that the locals are proud to be a part of, and it’s been amazing to start to be involved with what that means. For me the best part of moving here is that I finally am able to feel like I’m staying somewhere and can settle in, personally and professionally. I’ve traveled A LOT!!!! in the last 3 years and I’m ready to work and be able to come home at night. That said I’ve loved every second of the visits I had this year, most of which were with family and friends.
