I wanted to create a whimsical bridal editorial titled “The Lilac Painter” show brides that they can add a creative spin even when it comes to bridal sessions, so I created the Mims House Wedding Editorial you see below!
The design for the shoot was centered around a large canvas and easel to showcase an artistic bride that’s painting a landscape scene.
The color scheme is lavender and green and works so well because of the Mims House stunning windows and clean minimal walls we chose as our location. Thistle & Moon did an amazing job with delicate florals to compliment the theme and local artist Ashley Triggiano’s painting additions and stationary were the perfect touch for a painters bridal editorial.
I (Rae) love design and find it almost as important as the photography itself. I got into the art of photography originally by creating art pieces that told as much of a story as possible without words. I loved carefully selecting details such as the colors, vendors, finding the right painting to see it all come together to look like a painting itself.
