Best of 2018 – Rae Marshall Photography
My Year Looking Back –
This year held some big firsts for my husband and I as we continued our time living in Hawaii. It’s been a wonderful year for my photography business and I met so many new amazing people visiting and living on Oahu. Here are the biggest events that happened this year:
- Became Pregnant with our first baby, found out at the end of April. He is arriving right at the end of the year/beginning of January 😮
- Dealt with our first deployment, my husband left for 6 months in the Marine Corps
- Traveled less than the past 5 years, focused on servicing the Hawaii islands
Places I went
- Maui, HI – Big Island, HI – Kauai, HI – Huntsville, AL – Nashville, TN and surrounding Tenessee – Baltimore, Maryland
- Visited a bucket list destination: Tokyo, Japan
- Favorite Youtube Channel 2018 – James Charles
- My song of the year- “Bloom” by Troye Sivan
- Favorite Restaurant Experience – Mama’s Fish House on Maui
- Biggest Struggle: Moving homes pregnant alone before a projected Hurricane
- Most Grateful for: My family visiting with Krista and Mom staying longer during deployment
Starting with the beginning of the year here are some of my favorite images that have been created, from touching wedding days to proposals and creative sessions, I love seeing how much can be experienced in a year through my own images. Please enjoy some of what I worked on this year and thank you for following along at all!
PERSONAL EVENTS:
Took my husband for a vacation in Maui in March
Had my first visitors on the island – the cool as heck Katie Vellman and Sean. Explored Oahu, got robbed during a photo shoot and used her phone her entire visit, headed over to Kauai.
My family came and visited us in May, and my mom and Krista stayed longer while Philip left for his deployment!
My mom and I in Maui
Philip and I announced our pregnancy on July 3rd while I visited him in Tokyo <3
See the full pregnancy announcement post if you missed it HERE
Did some maternity images with Ashley Bowman Photography before she moved away ;_;
Flew home and watched some of my own close friends get married this year! Much love to Brittany and Lauren and April and Jeremy.
Survived a 6 month deployment with these two baes
Have adored every moment my husband has come home. Finally preparing together for the arrival of our son, due at the beginning of January!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and who has trusted me with their memories this year, looking forward to seeing what the new year will hold! Time is going by so much quicker now so I want to make sure to look back each year I can and remember how much I’ve accomplished and learned. Hope you have an amazing holiday season and Happy New Year!
